How Notification Channels Work in Managemate

Managemate notifications can be delivered through different channels depending on the notification type and your preferences. This article explains what each channel means and when to use it.

Email

Email notifications are delivered to your inbox.

Depending on the notification type, email may be:

  • sent right away

  • sent once per day

  • sent once per week

Email is best when you want a written summary you can review later.

In-app

In-app notifications appear inside Managemate while you are using the platform.

These are useful when you want visibility into activity without relying on email or mobile push.

In-app is best when you:

  • work in Managemate regularly

  • want timely updates without mobile interruptions

  • prefer to review notifications in your own time, while logged in

Push

Push notifications are sent to your mobile device in real time.

Push is best for:

  • time-sensitive updates

  • approvals

  • direct attention items such as mentions

To receive push notifications, you must:

  • install the Managemate mobile app

  • sign in on your mobile device

  • allow notifications in your phone settings

Important: Push notifications only work on mobile devices.

Real-Time vs Scheduled Notifications

Not all channels behave the same way.

Some notifications are sent immediately, while others are sent on a schedule. For example:

Daily Digest / New Records

  • In-app: real time

  • Push: real time

  • Email: sent once per day as a digest

Weekly Digest

  • Email only: sent once per week

Reminders

  • In-app: real time

  • Push: real time

  • Email: sent once per day as a digest

This means you may see the same notification type behave differently depending on the channel you choose.

Which Channel Should I Use?

Use Email if you want:

  • summaries

  • lower interruption

  • a record in your inbox

  • portfolio-level review

Use In-app if you want:

  • timely updates while working in Managemate

  • less interruption than mobile push

  • notifications that stay within the platform

Use Push if you want:

  • real-time mobile alerts

  • fast awareness of approvals or mentions

  • immediate attention on the go

Best Practice for High-Volume Users, Including Portfolio Managers

If you are a user in a busy condo or manage many properties, consider using:

  • Email for digest-style notifications

  • In-app for platform visibility

  • Push only for the most important real-time items

For many portfolio managers, a good approach is to:

  • keep Daily Digest - Email on

  • keep Weekly Digest - Email on

  • turn Daily Digest / New Records - Push off

  • turn Reminders - Push off
