How the Daily Digest Email Works in Managemate

The Daily Digest is an end of day email, sent for each condo, summarising everything that happened there in the last 24 hours, including notes and status updates.

Written by Salim Dharssi

The Daily Digest is an email that arrives at the end of each day and summarises what happened at a condo over the previous 24 hours. It is the most complete of Managemate's four scheduled emails.

You receive one Daily Digest per condo. If you have access to several condos, each one sends its own digest, and the contents are never mixed.

When you will receive it

  • The Daily Digest arrives at 5:00 PM (Eastern Time) and covers the previous 24 hours.

  • You receive one email per condo you have access to.

  • Your digest only includes records you have permission to view. Two people at the same condo may receive different digests.

  • If there is nothing to report for you that day, no email is sent.

What is inside

Activity Updates

Activities are grouped into three lists, and each group header tells you how many updates it contains and how many activities they are spread across.

  • To Do, for activities that are neither overdue nor complete

  • Overdue, for activities past their due date and not complete

  • Completed, for activities completed in the period

Each activity appears in one list only.

Below each activity you will see any status updates and notes added that day, showing who wrote it, when, and enough of the text to judge whether you need the rest. Select View Full Update or View Full Note to read it in Managemate. Where more than one was added, a count such as +2 more tells you how many others are waiting.

Other Updates

  • Reminders, for overdue items, and contracts that expired or renewed

  • Projects, showing new, completed and overdue projects with their duration

  • Documents, grouped as General Documents, Financial Statements and Certificates, each showing how many activities it is linked to

  • Vendors, for new vendors and vendors with new notes

  • Invoices, showing the amount, the vendor, and the approval status such as Pending Approval or Approved

A NEW badge marks anything created in the last 24 hours. Where an older record received a fresh update, the badge appears on the update rather than on the record.

How this differs from the Weekly Digest

The two digests share the same design, and the Daily Digest is deliberately broader.

  • Arrives. Daily Digest, 5:00 PM daily. Weekly Digest, Friday 5:00 PM.

  • Covers. Daily Digest, the last 24 hours. Weekly Digest, the last 7 days plus the next 7.

  • Notes. Included in the Daily Digest. Not included in the Weekly Digest.

  • Documents. Daily Digest covers all document types. Weekly Digest covers Certificates and Financial Statements only.

  • Vendors and invoices. Included in the Daily Digest. Not included in the Weekly Digest.

  • Week ahead. Not in the Daily Digest. Included in the Weekly Digest, laid out by day.

Managers generally prefer the Daily Digest, because a week is a long time to wait to learn that something changed on Tuesday. Board directors are usually well served by the Weekly Digest alone, although some directors who follow the work closely prefer the Daily Digest and turn the weekly one off.

Receiving both is also fine, and many users do.

How to turn it on or off

  1. Log in to your Managemate account

  2. Click your user profile icon in the top right of any page, then select View Profile

  3. Select the Notifications tab

  4. Under Digests, find Daily Digest / New Records

  5. Turn Email on or off

Green means on. Grey means off.

Daily Digest / New Records controls three different things. Email is the once daily digest described in this article. In app and Push are instant notifications sent as each record is created. If Managemate feels noisy, turning Push off while leaving Email on is usually the change that helps.

Your notification settings apply to every Workspace you have access to.

On mobile: push notifications require the Managemate mobile application to be installed, with notifications allowed on your device.

Summary

  • The Daily Digest arrives at 5:00 PM, one email per condo, covering the last 24 hours

  • It includes activities, projects, documents of all types, vendors and invoices

  • Notes and status updates appear directly beneath the record they belong to

  • No email is sent when there is nothing to report

  • Turn it on or off in User Profile > Notifications > Digests
