How the Weekly Digest Email Works in Managemate

The Weekly Digest is a Friday email, sent for each condo, summarising what happened over the past week and what is coming up in the next one.

Written by Salim Dharssi

The Weekly Digest is a summary email of material things that happened at your condo over the past week, and what is coming up in the next one, so you can stay informed without checking Managemate every day.

For most board directors, this is the only Managemate email you need.

When you will receive it

  • The digest arrives every Friday at 5:00 PM (Eastern Time). It covers the previous 7 days, plus a preview of the 7 days ahead.

  • You receive one email per condo. If you belong to several condos, each one sends its own digest, and content is never mixed.

  • Your digest only includes what you have permission to view. Two people in the same condo may receive different digests.

  • If there is nothing to report for you that week, no email is sent.

What is inside

Activity Updates

Your condo's activities, organised into three lists.

  • To Do, for activities that received a status update this week and are neither overdue nor completed

  • Overdue, for activities due in the last 7 days that are still in To Do status. An activity due more than 7 days ago also appears here if it received a status update this week and is still in To Do status

  • Completed, for activities completed in the last 7 days. An activity completed more than 7 days ago also appears here if it received a status update this week

Each activity appears in one list only. Where it qualifies for more than one, the most important wins: Completed first, then Overdue.

When an activity has a status update, the latest one is shown directly beneath it, with who wrote it and when, and a preview of up to 500 characters. Select View Full Update to read the whole update in Managemate. Where there were more updates during the week, a +N more count appears next to the link.

The preview shows plain text only. Formatting and images are removed, and links stay clickable.

Other Updates

  • Reminders, for records that need your attention: overdue projects, and contracts that expired or renewed in the past week

  • Projects, for projects completed this week

  • Documents, for Certificates and Financial Statements added in the last 7 days, each showing its date and how many activities it is linked to

Coming Up Next Week

A view of the week ahead by day: activities starting or due, projects starting or ending, and contracts expiring or renewing. Each item carries a badge saying Starts, Due, Ends, Expires or Renews.

  • An item that starts on one day and finishes on another appears on both days

  • An item that starts and finishes on the same day appears once, with its finishing badge

Badges and labels worth knowing

  • NEW marks anything created within the last 7 days: an activity, a project, a document, or a status update. An older activity with a fresh update gets the badge on the update rather than on the activity

  • Events end, they are not due. Events show End and Ended where tasks and inspections show Due and Completed

  • Activities with no dates show Unscheduled. Activities with a start and an end date show their full Duration. Where a specific time of day is set, it appears alongside the date

  • Every item shows an icon for its type, and contracts show the vendor name

What changed in the new design

If your Friday email looks different, these are the changes.

  1. Status updates now sit under the activity they belong to, showing who wrote the update and when. Previously they appeared in a section of their own, which meant the same work was often reported twice in one email

  2. A NEW badge highlights activities, updates and documents created in the past 7 days, so you can see what is genuinely new rather than simply still open

  3. A Reminders section collects items that need attention, including contracts that expired or renewed during the week

  4. More context on each record, so you can understand an update without opening the application

How to turn it on or off

  1. Log in to your Managemate account

  2. Click your user profile icon in the top right of any page, then select View Profile

  3. Select the Notifications tab

  4. Under Digests, find Weekly Digest

  5. Turn Email on or off

Green means on. Grey means off.

The Weekly Digest is an email only notification. There is no in app or push option.

Your notification settings apply to every Workspace you have access to.

Summary

  • The Weekly Digest arrives every Friday at 5:00 PM, one email per condo

  • It covers the last 7 days and previews the next 7

  • Status updates now appear beneath the activity they describe, which removes the duplication in earlier versions

  • No email is sent when there is nothing to report

  • Turn it on or off in User Profile > Notifications > Digests
