How to Change Your Notification Settings

To update your notification settings:

  1. Log in to your Managemate account

  2. Go to User Profile by clicking on your user profile icon in the top right of any page, then selecting View Profile

  3. Select the Notifications tab in the User Profile page

  4. Turn each channel on or off for each notification type

How to tell if a setting is on or off

  • Green = On

  • Grey = Off

For example:

  • if Push is green, Push notifications are enabled for that notification type

  • if Email is grey, Email notifications are turned off for that notification type

Important: Push notifications only work on mobile devices. To receive them, you must have the Managemate mobile app installed, be signed in, and allow notifications in your phone settings.

If You’re Getting Too Many Notifications

If Managemate feels noisy, the first setting to review is usually Daily Digest / New Records notification type.

This notification type covers new records such as:

  • documents

  • invoices

  • vendors

  • activities

  • projects

For the Daily Digest / New Records notification type:

  • In-app notifications are real time

  • Push notifications are real time

  • Email is sent as a daily digest

If records are being created across multiple properties during the day, this can generate a lot of notifications, especially for portfolio managers who are manage multiple properties.

What to change first

If you want fewer interruptions:

  • turn Push off for Daily Digest / New Records

  • keep Email on if you still want a summary later in the day

This one change solves the problem for many users.

Recommended low-noise setup

If you want to reduce notification volume without missing important items, start with this:

  • Mentions: On

  • Daily Digest / New Records - Email: On

  • Daily Digest / New Records - Push: Off

  • Weekly Digest Email: On

  • Reminders - Email: On

  • Reminders - Push: Off

  • Invoice Requests: On if relevant to your role

  • Invoice Status Change: On if relevant

  • Assignee Changes: On if relevant

If You’re Not Getting Enough Notifications

If you are missing notifications, check these first:

1. Make sure the setting is turned on

Go to User Profile > Notifications and confirm the right channels are enabled.

Remember:

  • Green = On

  • Grey = Off

2. Check whether the notification is real time or scheduled

Not all notifications arrive immediately.

For example:

  • Daily Digest / New Records

    • Push and In-app: real time

    • Email: sent once per day

  • Weekly Digest

    • Email only: sent once per week

  • Reminders

    • sent once per day

If you expected an instant email for a new record, that is likely the issue. New records are notified in email as part of a scheduled daily digest.

3. Check your mobile device settings

If Push is enabled in Managemate but nothing is arriving on your phone:

  • make sure the app is installed

  • make sure you are signed in

  • make sure notifications are allowed for the app on your device
